The world today would be better off without a lot of things.
There are some that are my own personal opinion that some wouldn’t agree with
so I won’t get into those. I think that the world today would be fine without
the invention of tanning beds. The only thing a tanning bed does for you, in
all honesty, is give you skin cancer. Some people tend to become addicted to it
and end up never having any problems or some end up with severe cases of skin
cancer. Tanning gets you a nice looking skin color but if you keep doing it
forever, even if you don’t get skin cancer, you will start to look like an old
lady even if you’re young. I watched a show about a girl who was addicted to
tanning and she went three times a day every day. She had to go to 3 different
places because tanning places won’t let you tan more than once a day. I think that’s
a giant smack in the face with a huge sign saying tanning is really bad for
you! Now I won’t completely bash tanning because I am tanning for prom and I will
next year to. Even though I am only doing it for a short little while it can
still have bad effects on my skin. There are other ways around tanning, for
instance: tanning lotion, tanning spray, or actually getting a spray tan. You
can go to Wal-Mart and buy a can or bottle of tanning stuff for cheaper than
you can to go tanning. I personally don’t think a little tanning is going to
affect you enough to hurt you; people do it before weddings, prom, or some other
formal gatherings. Do not get addicted to it though because that is something that
WILL hurt you.
Tanning beds to me are the most ridiculous things ever made. I always call it fake and bake. I tried to go tanning once for prom because I had a terrible tan line from a rodeo and I had a panic attack so I sucked it up and left my skin alone. Never again will try that. My step mom got addicted to both spray tans and fake and baking. I tell her everytime I see her she looks like an old wrinkly worn out peice of leather. I just don't understand why people are always fussing about the color of the skin, I mean really? We're all people and we don't care.
